Estimates and scope
Estimates given from photographs and descriptions are based on the information provided. If conditions on site differ materially from what the photos showed, we will stop and discuss it with you before continuing. We do not proceed with additional work or additional cost without your agreement.
A written scope is provided before work begins. Work outside that scope is not performed unless you approve it.
Licensing limits
Honey Done List is not a licensed electrical, plumbing, mechanical, general or specialty contractor. We do not perform work requiring a license or a permit, and we do not perform work that disturbs pre-1978 painted surfaces or suspected asbestos-containing material. Where your request falls into one of those categories, we will identify it and refer you to an appropriate licensed contractor with whom you would contract directly.
Access and authorization
You confirm that you own the property or are authorized to have work performed on it, and that you are authorized to approve the scope and the cost. For tenanted property, you are responsible for any notice your lease or state law requires before entry.
Materials
Materials may be supplied by us or by you. Materials you supply are not covered by any workmanship warranty from us, and we are not responsible for their suitability, availability or defects. Where we supply materials, any manufacturer warranty passes to you.
Scheduling
We schedule in good faith against realistic windows. Weather, supply availability, and conditions discovered on site can move a schedule, and we will tell you promptly if that happens. Where a deadline is not achievable we will say so when you send the list rather than agreeing and missing it.
Payment
Payment is due on completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. Larger projects may require a deposit toward materials. Disposal and tipping fees are passed through at cost and itemized.
Workmanship
We stand behind our labor. If work we performed fails in a manner attributable to our workmanship, tell us and we will return to address it. This does not extend to: materials you supplied; repairs you asked us to perform against our stated recommendation; normal wear; damage caused by others; failures originating from a defect outside our scope, such as an ongoing water source; or components at the end of their service life.
Property condition and pre-existing issues
Older buildings contain conditions that are not visible until work begins. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions revealed during work, though we will tell you about anything we find. We do not conceal known defects and we will decline a request to do so.
Documentation and third parties
We will provide a written record of work completed. We do not certify, sign off on, or provide documentation implying that licensed work was performed by us. We do not advise on security deposit deductions, handling of abandoned tenant property, disclosure obligations, or code compliance certification. Those are legal questions for your attorney or agent.
Cancellation
Please give us as much notice as you reasonably can. Where materials have been specially ordered for your job, those costs may be payable.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from the work is limited to the amount paid for the work in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.
