About
Built around the part of this work everybody else finds annoying.
Honey Done List is a repair and property care business based in Statesville, working across Iredell, Catawba, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Cabarrus, Alexander and Gaston counties.
Why this exists
The list is the normal case
Ask almost anyone about their house and you will not get one problem. You will get a list — the closet door that came off the track in March, the towel bar that has been in a drawer since the move, the cabinet that will not close, the smoke detector chirping at twelve feet.
Those lists sit for years, and almost never because of money. They sit because calling a contractor about eleven small unrelated things feels absurd, and because most companies are not set up to price that anyway. A defined job is easy to schedule. Eleven unrelated items is a logistics problem, so it gets quoted high enough to be worth the trouble or it gets ignored.
So the list stays on the fridge and grows a twelfth item. Meanwhile the failed caulk in the guest bath quietly wets a subfloor for two years, and what was cosmetic becomes structural.
Honey Done List starts from the opposite assumption. The list is the normal case, not the exception. Reading it, sorting it, and telling you plainly which parts are ours is the actual service — the work itself is the easy half.
How we operate
Four things we have decided about
Not values on a wall. Operating decisions that change what you get.
- We answer, including when the answer is noBeing ignored is the number one complaint in home services and it is entirely avoidable. Every list gets read and gets a reply, even the ones we cannot help with.
- We tell you what not to spend money onTalking a seller out of a repair, telling a homeowner an item is not worth fixing, pointing out that a builder should still be covering something under warranty. That costs us revenue and it is the fastest way to be worth calling twice.
- We stay in our lane and say where it endsNo licensed electrical, plumbing, HVAC, gas, roofing or structural work. No permitted projects. When your item is on the wrong side of that line you get told which trade you need.
- Nothing expands into a surpriseWritten scope before work starts. If the photos did not show the whole story we stop and tell you, and you decide. There is no version where you find out at the end.
The name
Yes, it’s a joke. It’s also the business model.
A honey-do list is the running joke about the household chores that never get done — the accumulated backlog everybody has and nobody enjoys.
We named the company after it because that backlog is precisely what we do. Not one emergency repair. The list. The whole thing, in whatever state it is in, with the items nobody can name properly and the two things that turn out to need an electrician.
Send it and it becomes a done list. That is the entire pitch.
Based in Statesville, working out across the Lake Norman region and the surrounding counties. Core towns — Statesville, Mooresville, Troutman, Denver and the lake — usually schedule same week. Extended areas get routed, which means a larger list gets on the calendar faster than a single small item. That is trip math rather than a preference, and we would rather explain it than pretend it does not exist.
Next step
Got a list? That's the whole idea.
Photos, notes, an inspection report, a screenshot of your notes app — whatever you have. We read every one and reply with a straight answer, including the parts we're not the right fit for.
